Oh, This is where summer went!
October 28th, 2008We really need six months of summer here in order to offset the six months of winter. Autumn makes up for a lot though.

I no longer have the time to dedicate to my gardens.
I mean they are out of control! I need to divide and give away at least half of what I have. It’s so bad I’m considering putting up a “Forever Wild” sign and just letting it go.

Last thing I knew it was hot out and the next thing I know there’s snow in the air!

I finally got my lilies out of the ground, boxed up and put up in the garage till next spring. How can such a beautiful flower have such and ugly bulb?

At every wedding I try to get grab one good photo of some kid or kids. It’s sort of a break during all the work, but still in the context of the day. Here’s one I’m going to have a hard time topping this year.
(if you right-click on it you’ll get a larger image)

Way behind on my blogging due to an enormous amount of shooting lately. Here’s more photos of Zia & Chris’s wedding a couple weeks ago that took place at Artisan works in Rochester, New York.
It was a double ceremony celebrating both the Baha’i faith and Pentecostal. I had Nicole Murtagh assisting me and everything worked out great!

First the Baha’i ceremony.

Next the Pentecostal ceremony.

How about taking a break after both ceremony’s and playing a game of pool. I won’t tell you who won.

Louis who runs Artisan works congratulates Zia.

From Saturday’s wedding… more to come soon.

A perfect day for an outdoor wedding at Belhurst Castle. With all the rain we’ve had here in western New York is was actually a bit of a surprise.
I was second shooting for Brady Dillsworth and while Brady thought at the time his sinuses were going crazy the next day he was flat out sick. I’m sure a couple days rest and he’ll be back to his twenty hour days.
It was truly a pleasure to shoot Katherine & David’s wedding. It was so much fun on many different levels especially for all their friends that came in from NYC and for family members that came in from as far away as London!
Take a peek to get an idea of the day.
BTW, the first photo… the mirror isn’t dirty, it’s just an antique mirror with a little of the silver backing that has flaked off over time.

This next one, of Katherine, is a personal favorite. She was sweetheart!

At the reception Katherine’s matron of honor (who’s a comedian) was enjoying delivering her toast.

OK, this was the first time I’ve seen rollerblades at a wedding… but it worked!

Jake Shimabukuro of YouTube fame recently played the Rochester International Jazz Festival and to say the audience liked him would be a severe understatement… They loved him!
He is so personable with his audience that his was the only show I watched entirely. I was shooting for the Rochester International Jazz Festival and moving from one venue to another to get photographs of the the artists performing and there was rarely time to sit and just enjoy the show. Well luck had it that Jake Shimabukuro’s show was the last one I needed to cover that night and after a few short minutes I knew I would be staying for the entire show.
If you ever have a chance to see him live get your tickets early and be prepared to be thoroughly entertained by this young man. A little hint… Look for him in Rochester next June.
Here’s a few photos I took and below is the YouTube clip that brought him to the worlds attention.
